I’ve been the one to completely think of a soundtrack before writing the story. This includes writing a script for a class. I’m always creating a playlist for characters in the story to create a certain feel on how they act around other characters in story.
To a writer, there are multiple playlist created for one project: one for the plot, one for leading female, another for the leading male, one more for the sidekicks, and one for the leading characters’s relationship. The playlists says a lot about what each character is going through throughout the story and it’s on-going too. You can add to the playlist as you push on. It is always evolving as you close the book and start a brand new one.
Melanie Mercado, P.I.
When I wrote Melanie Mercado, I had this idea that people think of her job as something that will destroy people’s reputation and she’s only doing it to invade people’s personal lives.
That’s not her at all!
She’s way equipt too just ruin people. She’s much more than that.
Here’s five songs that inspired her character arch:
- I See Fire by Ed Sheeran
- World Burn by Mean Girls OBC
- Die Fun by Kacey Musgraves
- I Did Something Bad by Taylor Swift
- Moon River by Audrey Hepburn
I have not posted her story anywhere as I don’t feel like it’s ready for publication just yet. There’s still a lot more to do and rewrite with only two chapters written for the tale. As well as my lack of creativity when it comes to third person narration. So, there’s still a lot of work to be done to her story.
See you through the thunder!
